The heat load in commercial situation is generally much bigger than the normal residential application for a room in a house. As a result, the commercial systems are bigger in size compared to the residential. As the commercial environment is generally noisier than the quiet residential, the noise levels of the air conditioning systems normally is not objectionable. The commercial air conditioning units are also different types such as ceiling cassettes, under ceiling and roof top packaged type. The high rise commercial buildings and offices now use VRV – variable refrigerant volume systems where one large unit serves many rooms. Normally the commercial systems of air conditioning also incorporate ventilation requirements as per the building code. There are strict council compliance requirements to have producer statements before building consent is granted.

Industrial Systems

Large processing facility such as electronics manufacture, health products manufacture and pharmaceutical production requires close controlled atmosphere and sometimes calls for clean room systems. These are dedicated manufacturing facilities and the air conditioning system is specially designed taking into considerations all the requirements. Large system normally would use chilled water for providing the cooling effect. It is also referred as central system.

Commercial projects require detailed design, drawings and specifications for council approval. Councils are now very strict for relevant standards and building codes compliant designs. Each project document will require design certifications such as producer statements.

We can design to client’s brief and work in conjunction with other consultants such as architects, structural engineers, fire engineer, hydraulic / water services consultant and can provide coordinated design documents. We are member of Institution of Professional Engineers. We are also registered as authors for producer statements such as PS 1 Design, PS2 Design Review and PS 3 construction. We have a team of experienced technicians and trades persons capable of providing project execution. Once the design is approved and building consent granted, we can supply and install the systems as designed.

IQP / Building WOF / Form 12A Certification

It is mandatory now for the commercial building to have a current Warrant of Fitness. The building WOF is issued annually subject to all the systems in the building has been serviced on regular basis and maintained in good working conditions. The service check records are kept for all the work done for servicing the building plant. Based on these check sheets and records, we can issue the FORM 12A certification stating that the servicing has been up to the IQP standards.On receipt of Form 12A, the Building WOF is issued by LBP (Licensed Building Practitioner) Comfort Systems are IQP Registered service providers and we can service the commercial building for its systems and can issue the Form 12A certification. We have a team of experienced tradesmen who can service the building systems.
